Claire Christopher spent 20 years working in the finance industry before a move to Hong Kong in 2011 prompted a career change. Claire gained a post graduate certificate in Clinical Hypnotherapy with the London College of Clinical Hypnosis and University of West London and has worked as a Clinical Hypnotherapist in private practice treating a variety of psychological and physiological issues.
Claire has recently completed a Master’s degree in Counselling with Monash University, Melbourne. Claire’s practicum was spent working at a multidisciplinary practice in Hong Kong assisting with psychoeducational and specific learning disorder assessments. Claire was involved in the testing process and report production.
Claire is committed to providing support to children, adolescents and adults who are facing life challenges by helping them develop the insight and skills needed to live a happy and fulfilled life. Claire has experience of dealing with a range of issues including stress, anxiety, depression, body image, self-esteem and confidence, addiction, life transitions and relationship difficulties. Claire uses a range of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Person Centred Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to provide client-specific counselling based on each client’s individual situation, needs and goals. When beneficial, Claire combines her counselling skills with hypnotherapeutic techniques to help clients with issues such as stress, smoking cessation, weight management, phobias and social anxiety. She also works with clients to improve sleep, increase motivation and build confidence.
Claire provides a safe, empathetic and non-judgmental space in which her clients feel able to share their concerns and work collaboratively towards resolving their issues, improving well-being and enhancing their happiness.
Claire has been a member of the Psychotherapy Society of Hong Kong for a number of years, and she is currently serving as Vice President.
